Katie Hansen has been a massage therapist since 2013 but her interest in helping people with pain and injuries goes back to 2006 when she was a pre-physical therapy student at Augusta State University.
As a runner and triathlete she found herself seeking help for her own injuries and found that massage therapy was what helped her the most. She decided to pursue an education in massage instead of physical therapy and hasn’t looked back.
Whether you are an athlete, stay at home mom, or sit at a desk all day, Katie’s number one goal is to get her clients’ range of motion back and eliminate their pain so they can get back to their busy, active lifestyle. Katie has studied advanced techniques including Orthopedic and Myofascial release. She is also certified to perform Prenatal massage, Hot Stone and Swedish massage.
She is currently studying to become certified as a corrective exercise specialist with the National Academy of Sports Medicine so she can prescribe stretches and corrective exercises to her clients. Katie has completed 2 marathons, many half marathons, 4 half Ironman races and attempted one full distance Ironman. When she isn’t helping her clients or training for a race, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 teenage sons.
